The Letchworth and District Family History Group was founded in February 1995 by an enthusiastic group of amateur family historians and we have continued to grow. At present we have about 40 members, who come from Baldock, Hitchin, Letchworth, Stotfold and Welwyn Garden City.
We range from complete beginners to very well informed amateurs and we welcome anybody with an interest in their family history. Our members' interests cover most areas in Great Britain and some further afield. Very few, if any, are looking for their ancestors locally. For this reason we do not have talks that concentrate on local history but we look at the subject from a broader angle. (see Diary)
The Group, unfortunately, has not the resources to undertake any searches on your behalf. You may, however, lodge an offer of reciprocal work with one of our members (see Members' Interests) or try the Hertfordshire Family History Society (visit HFHS).
